Outsourcing Tips
When choosing to outsource some of your work, there are several points to remember when looking for a freelancer.
1. Always ask for samples of their work, this should be simple for them to provide. If they are reluctant to do this, then probably they have no previous work or they are not confident to share it.
2. The normal process is to pay 50% upfront and the rest of receipt of the work to the agreed standard and format requested.
3. There are various freelance sites where you can advertise a job and you will receive quotes from various contractors. The prices vary greatly and it is a question of getting samples of their work and choose a price you are happy to pay. Often the cheapest price turns out to be more expensive in the long run because of poor quality and late delivery of work etc.
4. There are many forums in all types of niches where it may be possible to find someone to outsource your work and again look for references and see if there is a search facility to check on the feedback.
5. Remember that if you want to expand your business you will almost certainly have to outsource some of your work. Often if you find good workers that are prepared to work for what might be a low fee in some countries can often result in good profits.
6. Always offer a small job to a new contractor and see how the quality and delivery time is. The worse thing is to pay 50% of a large job and it is never completed or delivered late resulting in problems for you.
